Therapy for the Neurodiverse
Counseling and Coaching for people with ADHD, ASD, HSP and Beyond
Feel stuck in patterns of distraction, frustration and disappointment?
Do you feel there is a missing piece that could bridge the gap between your potential and your performance?
Are you a highly sensitive person (HSP) struggling with overwhelm?
Questioning whether the term "neuro-diverse" applies to you?
Do you find yourself thinking your brain is broken, that you can't get it right, or that you don't fit in?
Wondering "what now?" after a diagnosis of ADHD or ASD?
I've been there! I can help you move through the emotional fog and make sense of your unique neuro-type, to optimize your experience of work, school, home life, creativity and relationships. My approach combines supportive relationship, strategies for social and emotional awareness and regulation, and executive function education and coaching. I work with adults and adolescents with ADHD, ASD or HSP, as well as anyone struggling to adapt to life's challenges. I also provide parent coaching for families navigating neuro-developmental challenges. Together we identify strengths and collaboratively build a scaffold of supports for a life that feels more emotionally, socially and energetically sustainable.
I know from personal and professional experience how painful it can feel to be in distressing relationships with ourselves and/or others due to neurological differences. But I also know that neuro-diversity comes with immense strengths, and there are new ways of connecting and navigating that can change your life. My aim is to help you understand what's happening when you feel stuck, to better navigate social and emotional problems, and to make concrete and realistic plans for more optimal function.
About Me

I have over 25 years experience working with children, adolescents and adults in a variety of educational and therapeutic settings, including classrooms, wilderness therapy, environmental and experiential education, clinics and therapeutic schools. I am a licensed clinical mental health counselor in North Carolina with a master's degree from Western Carolina University. Blended into my practice is additional training in emotionally-focused therapy, motivational interviewing and executive function coaching. My practice is informed by my own experience with ADHD, and I am also a certified ADHD professional.
When not working with clients, I am a singer, songwriter and musician. I love spending time in the mountains, here in Western North Carolina, as well as in New Mexico, my great muse. I have a master's degree in creative writing, a certificate in permaculture design, and extensive experience as an environmental educator. A rich life is possible with neuro-diversity, and I'd be honored to help you optimize your own!
